Become a Teacing Fellow

Inspire the next generation of legal leaders.

Join the Law and Leadership Institute (LLI) as a Teaching Fellow and make a lasting impact on high school students exploring the legal profession. This paid fellowship opportunity is open to first- and second-year law students who are passionate about education, youth empowerment, and community leadership.

Fellows receive training in classroom management and instructional best practices, ongoing coaching and mentorship, and hands-on experience in youth development and legal education—all while building skills that translate directly to a successful legal career.

What Teaching Fellows Do

As a Teaching Fellow, you’ll:

  • Teach high school students during LLI’s summer law immersive and four academic-year sessions, using our dynamic law and leadership curriculum.

  • Mentor youth from underserved communities, helping them build confidence, civic awareness, and college readiness.

  • Facilitate engaging sessions on legal concepts, public speaking, and leadership development—preparing students for their capstone experiences in mock trial, moot court, legislative policy hearing, or spoken word poetry inspired by resilient figures in legal history.

  • Host guest speakers such as law firm partners, corporate general counsel, judges, and attorneys who share their professional journeys.

  • Participate in college tours and enrichment events that broaden students’ vision for their future.

  • Collaborate with site teams and law school partners to create a supportive, high-impact learning environment.
