With remarks from Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor, the cocktail reception celebrated our successes and honored some of the individuals who have helped us make the program possible, including:
Heather A. CreeD
Ms. Creed joined the staff as LLI's first Chief Operating Officer in April 2014 and became LLI's Executive Director in February 2015. Ms. Creed brings to LLI her unique experience and insight from her tenure at Legal Outreach, a diversity pipeline program based in New York City, as well as experience in law school administration in Texas and as an algebra teacher in Miami.
Ms. Murphy re-joined the staff as LLI's Program Director in March 2017 after previously serving as the Columbus Site Administrator in 2014. Ms. Murphy brings to LLI her passion and enthusiasm for developing young people through education and her dedication to the legal profession as a licensed attorney. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Middle Childhood Education from The Ohio State University in 2010, and graduated Cum Laude from Capital University Law School earning her Juris Doctor in 2014. In her professional career, Ms. Murphy has consistently promoted access to legal education both as a law school admission counselor and as the former Mentorship Chair of the John Mercer Langston Bar Association. She is an active member of the JMBLA and the Columbus Urban League Young Professionals and is amid her second year of service on the Capital University Law School Alumni Board.
Ms. Kaufman joined LLI in September 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from The Ohio State University and has held various positions in the non-profit and government sectors. Prior to joining LLI, she served as the Communications and Marketing Specialist for the Ohio Housing Finance Agency. She brings to LLI a passion for non-profit work.
